Santa Cruz, Tenerife, Canary Islands When Hawkins and Drake departed, they watered two leagues away. Only from the Spanish sources lodged in the Las Palmas Museum, did I learn that this anchorage was in fact, barely one league away to the north, off Bufadero valley.
